Section7Welcome back

Let's review what we did in the first session!

First, we chatted about what projects you were thinking about working on. We talked a bit about the benefits that PTX can provide in developing projects, sharing them, and “bonus” things like someone else working to make sure your project is accessible to readers with disabilities.

We then saw a few exampmles of PTX features in action in existing projects before getting to work. We got up to speed at slightly different paces, but most made really nice progress in terms of being able to compile the most basic document. We (MTK and KDC) will make sure to help anyone who feels behind or stuck first today.

But you will still want to separate content from presentation!

Remark7.1

Before we get going, we have a number of announcements.

  1. A version of these notes is at http://rellek.net/ptx/notes. The cheatsheet is at http://rellek.net/ptx/cheatsheet They won't be there forever, but for now they are. (They'll ikely stay at these addresses until the cheatsheet gets merged into the PTX documentation.

  2. We'll take this opportunity again to thank SageMath, Inc. for providing internet-enabled hosting through the end of the month.

  3. And of course I will once again thank the MAA Minicourse Committee for approving this workshop, and to all of you!
